As the people often worry about the daily activities, the outcome of their work, things they expect to happen in the near future, numerous relationships with others, and so on, they are under permanent pressure and anxiety, which have become a normal part of their lives.
This condition makes people feeling nervous, which sometimes can develop more severe symptoms and complications.
The medical statistic of the USA shows that about 13 million adults suffer from panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). As a result of anxiety are reduced the abilities of the individuals to function normally. When sufferers cannot control these feelings, they can escalate, becoming overwhelming, and then can cause hyperventilation and panic attacks.
The people who suffer panic attacks are under intensive fear which leads to incredible physical and mental distress. Then they are, usually shaking, racing or pounding heart rate, and have difficulties to breathe. If the situation is more serious, they can cause fast or deep gasping to intake air, known as hyperventilation. These attacks cannot be predicted and there are many specific triggers related to them.
When it comes to the prevention of panic and hyperventilation attacks in at-risk individuals, there were conducted many studies. Okayama University Medical School, conducted the study, in 2013, making an invaluable discovery that could open new perspectives.
These attacks are caused by the low serotonin level in the body, which regulates the feelings of happiness and wellbeing. It significantly depends on the added components of vitamin B6 and iron.
The focus of this study was to analyze the level of iron and B6 in patients suffering the severe panic attack or panic- induced hyperventilation, comparing them with others. The results of the study showed that both vitamin B6 and iron levels were significantly lower in people who suffered from these attacks.
These findings are important for effective prevention of the sudden onset panic attacks in people suffering from the panic disorders and GAD.
